LOCAL NOTES:
Native to Southern Africa, it was initially introduced into Australia as an ornamental plant and is now considered an environmental weed.
It is a climbing plant which traverses up indigenous plants including tea tree in coast dune scrub at Shallow Inlet, including along the Roy Henderson trail.
Its foliage appears delicate and fern-like but its thin stems are incredibly strong.
It has invaded large areas of the High Tide Track at Shallow Inlet and the House Track from Shallow Inlet over the dunes to the beach.
Weed on National Significance in Australia (WONS listed). See link to SGLN website for management.
