Arctotis species are often planted in gardens as colourful hardy ornamental plants. In local sandy soil it readily spreads forming large extensive clumps, displacing native species. If given a chance it will spread to nature strips and beyond to reserves and public spaces.
This plant does not reproduce by seed but spreads readily by plant and root material. Careful disposal of all plant material in Council green bins is important.
